History: Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in Hardin County, Kentucky. His father, Thomas Lincoln was a pioneer. Lincoln had a sister Sarah and a brother Thomas who died. The family moved to Perry County, Indiana in 1817 due to land dispute. On October 5, 1818; Lincoln's mother died. After his mother's death, Lincoln grew closer to his father and admired all the work he's done.
Before Lincoln's political career, he had a career in law. His family migrated again to Macon County. Illinois in March of 1830. Lincoln spilt from his family and worked in a small community of New Salem, Illinois. He worked as a shopkeeper, postmaster, and store owner. In 1832, The Black Hawk War broke out and the U.S and Native Americans elected Lincoln to be a captain. This started his political career.
In 1834, Lincoln was elected as a member of the Whig Party to the Illinois state legislature. As him being elected, he realized his viewings of slavery.
One November 6, 1860, Lincoln was elected as our 16th president of the United States which brought him all the tools to abolish slavery.
